HandsOn Leadership gets you equipped with the knowledge and skills to successfully develop and lead volunteer projects. It combines class time with practical application, giving you a hands-on opportunity to develop a large-scale, long-term service project in partnership with Seattle Works and a local nonprofit.
Class nights focus on: • Project Management • Community Engagement • Team Building • Volunteer Management • Fundraising
Following the training, you’ll put your skills to work, developing and leading a new and needed project.
The Commitment
Nothing great ever happens without a little hard work. This is the case with HandsOn Leadership. The process will be intensive and require time and dedication, but the rewards - project management and development skills, an established relationship with a nonprofit, and a sustained impact on our community that you can call your own - make it a unique experience well worth its commitment.
The training will involve the class nights, a Hot Project and the time that follows to plan and complete your project (up to 10 months in length). Throughout the course, our team will be there as a resource to provide support, ideas and encouragement.
When: Registration is now open for our upcoming session with classes on Tues 4/5, 4/19 & 5/3, 6-9pm.
Participants will also attend a Hot Project on 4/16. Hot Projects are one-time volunteer opportunities and are three to four hours long.
Where: Classes will take place at the Hearing, Speech and Deafness Center (1625 19th Avenue on Capitol Hill) and The 2100 Building (2100 24th Avenue S, Seattle, WA 98144).
HandsOn Leadership has a $90 program fee, which includes dinner and a resource binder. Cash flow got you down? Contact us about monthly payments.
