A sweet 30-something disabled woman with fibromyalgia and chronic headaches that leave her with very little stamina asks for help. She is looking for help with general housework, including mopping the floors, vacuuming and cleaning the bathroom--things that she cannot do, because her chronic illnesses leave her in pain and with very little energy. She likes to keep her apartment neat and tidy, and hopes for the occasional visit from a friendly volunteer to help her out. Her and her cat would love a visit from you.
Awesome Senior Waits for Visits from You. A past volunteer describes this 70-something woman like this: "She is wonderful!!! I have been doing more socializing then house work. She is awesome and I am so lucky to volunteer for her!" She hopes for help with light housework, and possibly reading because she's losing her eyesight. She also has mobility problems which make it difficult for her to bend a lift, so it's really tough for her to even sweep her floors. If you have an hour or two every other week to visit this senior in need, you could make a real difference in her life!
A very sweet, kind 80-something woman who lives near 9th and Spring Street (near St. James) needs the help of a friendly visitor. She is quite frail, which makes tasks such as cleaning and doing her laundry very difficult. She is looking for someone to stop by a few times a month to do her laundry and housework. She’s very sweet and thankful for help.
A sweet, appreciative 85 year old woman who lives in Capitol Hill is struggling with keeping her apartment. The building says she has too many belongings and is threatening to throw her out. She has very little family in town and struggles getting out. She needs someone patient enough to help her sort through her things because she has a lot of anxiety. Do you have a few hours per week to visit with her, sort through some things and ease her mind moving forward? Even just your presence with helping her organize would just mean the world to her.
