Found this morning, 11/1/11: wet, cold, hungry dog wandering on Roy St between 16th and 17th Ave E. She is now fed and waiting to be reunited with her owner. Please call 718-928-4146 if you have any information about her or if she is yours!
Have you checked with Cavaliers of Puget Sound? Cavalier owners are often involved with this group. Also, if you need a foster for the little lady while it gets figured out, I'm happy to help. I own a tri-color male who looks a lot like this little lady! Poor baby!
If the person above is not the owner, please contact Missing Pet Partnership ( http://www.missingpetpartnership.org/) to see if they have any reports, and get her checked out for a microchip at the very least, and/or take her to the Seattle Animal Shelter. The owners might be checking there. This dog should not be given away before the owners have had a chance to find her. I'm sure they're missing her.
That cav 100 percent has a home already and they are most cerrainly looking for their family member. This dog should NOT go to a shelter as they will adopt him out, make money at it, and the true owners will not legally be able to get him back. I have a cav also, and am happy to foster or adopt this baby, am a nurse, know all about cavaliers, and can most certainly put the work into finding the true owners as well. I would love to help in any way you would like. Thank you, Lauren Glandon 971-227-2377
Just because I'm nit-picky like this: Seattle Animal Shelter does not make money adopting out pets. On the contrary, they are Seattle's (i.e., our) municipal shelter, supported largely by pet licensing fees. They do not make a profit on animal adoptions. It is where stray pets are taken by Animal Control and where many, many people look for lost pets. It is recommended if you've lost your pet to check there in person at least every three days for your pet, as if it turns up here and has no identification, there is only a 72 hour hold before the animal is put up for adoption. If the pet is microchipped or tagged, however, the owner will get a call from the shelter. Also, Missing Pet Partnership works with SAS to help owners find missing pets. They have a lot of resources to get the word out.
