Great room, great location, great house, and great roommates-- What more could you need?!
Hello,
I am moving out of a wonderful house on Capitol Hill with great roommates that might be the perfect option for you. I have to move to help my elderly Grandmother and I can't make sense of paying two rents.
I'm already moved out so you must move in FEBRUARY 1st!
Located around the cross streets of 18th and Spruce, this house is close enough to downtown that it will never be a hassle to get to work; I work downtown currently and driving time about 5 minutes max and buses are readily available and safely accessible. The house itself is in a lovely neighborhood between Capitol Hill and Central District neighborhoods making it close enough to living the "big city life", but it's still a house in a neighborhood so it's definitely quieter than downtown.
The room you would be renting is located in the basement, but has it's own entrance from the outside and.... ready for it... a private bathroom! So far for me, this has been rather nice. Although the room is on the smaller size, but I fit a double bed, dresser, desk, and a coat hanger in there so it's not terribly cramped. What really makes it nice is the access to the outside and the privacy available, while still having the interaction between roommates at your convenience. It's perfect for a young professional or student as it is pretty quiet.
The house itself has two porches on the first and second floors of the house, has a big fully stocked kitchen (you bring food), new washer and dryer, and a "family room" with a big T.V and all of that fun stuff ( plus a little bit of storage in there too).
You would be sharing the house with 7 roommates, all of which I have come to love and will miss dearly. They are a co-ed mix of young professionals and graduate students around the ages 22-30, very respectable, responsible, and overall good people. We generally do our own thing throughout the week and cook our own food, but it's never unusual for us to have a shared meal or go out on the town with a roomie or two.
Rent is around $450 a month. Utilities such as water, internet, and heating are included in that price.
